Municipal Agents for the Elderly
February 20, 2010
Each town in Connecticut has a Municipal Agent for the Elderly. These people assist elders by providing information and referrals to services and benefit programs. The role was created by the CT State Legislature to ensure that elderly persons in each town have an officially appointed town representative who is responsible for providing information and assistance.
SITES: Contact the Department of Social Services or Elderly Services in the town where the elder resides.
LIMITS: To qualify for services from a Municipal Agent, the person must be 60 years of age or older or concerned about the welfare of an elder.
